Ellie Dickens

I am an illustrator and artist living in the Yorkshire Dales with my lovely border collie Daisy. I love to explore storytelling in my paintings and I'm always challenging myself with whatever work comes my way.  I started off drawing and painting animals from a simple love of them, and that has expanded into exploring colour and merging illustrative storytelling into my work. I also love working on pet portraits and find it incredibly rewarding to bring a photo of a beloved pet to life. 

My work has appeared in House and Garden magazine and on t-shirts via The Virtual Run Company to help raise money for the British Dalmation Welfare charity. I have also worked on digital art commissions including board game artwork, event designs and various garden illustrations to represent show gardens appearing in the RHS. If you have visited Bolton Abbey over the past few years you may have seen some of my work on their seasonal trails too, and will occasionally see me painting on site. Most recently I've been invited back to exhibit in Crafts in the Pen 2025
